Of all the reasons to stiff, I'll never understand people who do so because the casino juice is a lot. It's like stiffing a waitress because the restaurant is overpriced.
Some places have add-ons that do go toward the dealers and so on, and that's different. But some areas can't do this at all, including mine, and the result is that dealers hate dealing tournaments... which is why you find a lot of these bigger tournaments being dealt by more inexperienced dealers. Something has to give, right? You can deal the Borgata open with very little experience, and look at those buy-ins.
However, 3 percent going to the dealers is more than fine for a 1m win. Calling this case a stiff is rediculous, so long as it does in fact go to the dealers... I mean this is a good tip for a cash that size. the 3-5% rnge is generally for far smaller tourneys.
