IP is perfectly located for everything. The Mirage(a real poker room) is right across the street. Ceaser's and the Bellagio are the next two casino's across the street to your left. I liked the look of Caesars' poker room the best but they only have a low roller game's going from what I saw. They also have a cheap tournament at 11pm(?).

When you get to your first poker room grab on of the free poker mags. They have a listing of all the Vegas tournaments in the back. There are plenty of cheap 30 and $60 tourneys near IP -- Paris, Bally's, Caesars.

Another cheap party place is Thr Casino Royale which is 2 casinos to the right of IP (next to Harrah's). It is a good place to fule up before you head out. $1 beers and margaritas. It is also a good place to go when you are too drunk to be tolerated elswhere. They have $3 craps and 25 cent roulette.

I only played there once, but I really liked it. The guy who ran the roulette was like one of those guys that insults your girlfriend so you'll throw bottles at him in the dunk tank. He knows his tips are almost non-existent (a quater) and treats you accordingly.

I have never been there but everyone I know raves about Drai's in the Barbary Coast/Bill's Gaming for after hours partying and food. Close to your hotel good for late night hook ups. not cheap but a good value for Vegas.

Depending upon how much exploringing you want to do try the Vegas Monorail. It has a station at IP and travels the whole strip from the Sahara to the MGM. $5 dollars for one ride, $9 for a pass that is good all day. $5 dollar may seem like a lot, but the trains are nice and air conditioned. No bumbs. Buy a couple of all day passes and hand them off between your friends. Some of these casinos are mamoth and the walks will be longer than you think.

Lastly, under the touristy category is The Fountains of Bellagio. One of the things I always like even when I lived in Vegas. Take a break from your session, walk outside and watch the show. You can watch it from the sidewalk of the Bellagio without going into the whole complex.
