A good example of a non trashy redneck would be Hank Hill from the animated series King of the Hill. Basically just a southern guy who enjoys drinking beer, sports etc. Doesn't mean he is trash but there are plenty who is both.

Trashy people generally do not take care of their appearance or their belongings, yet will also place to great a value on having things like a large screen TV, nice wheels or the latest CD while living in a [censored] apartment complex or trailer or not paying their phone bill.
