Yoda lived in an old Tree that had an unusually
strong Force presence. That and the proximity
of that evil cave guided his home base choice;
the Emperor couldn't detect his presence.
Sidious was right, Yoda was arrogant and blinded
by his own stubbornness and pride. He lost the
battle in the Auditorium. It seems the only
person more powerful than Sidious was Vader:
Vader defeated Sidious where Luke, Yoda, Windu
could not.
Sidious couldn't seem to detect Luke's or Ben's
presence, insisting Vader's thoughts were not clear.
Vader detected Luke's sibling before the Emperor.
If Luke hadn't been right (like EVERY other character
told him he wasn't) and Vader hadn't had any good left
in him, the Emperor wins. Luke pwned everyone, obv.
