Default Re: Stars v Party Where to Play (LC)

I don't play at your levels, so I can't speak with authority, but in the cheap seats, I see one big problem at Stars: the default buyin.

For some stupid reason, Stars allows a 100 BB buyin, but when you sit down, the DEFAULT buyin is 40 BBs. Now, I can't speak for how it works at the higher levels, but at the $25NL and $50NL tables, MANY people buy in for that default amount. The $25NL tables therefore look very much like a $10NL table with an abnormally large blind. It really takes a bite out of your upside. Also, with such small buyins, postflop play becomes less important and some players become nearly pushbots.

If you're great at playing against shorty, try Stars. If you prefer deep stacks, stay at Party.

Unless someone more knowledgeable says that the higher stakes tables work differently....
