Happens a lot. Heck, I've SEEN it happen.

It's also not necessarily presented in a fashion as if it were as dubious as it really is. That is, what you might see as a douchebag boss hiring some young bimbo and boning her as she quickly rises to the top, or boning someone already well-established in the company who suddenly gets completely different treatment around the place and inevitable raises and promotions, can always be passed off as anything from true love to never actually happening at all. It's all part of the game, and a vagina is one of the playing cards.

A bit of advice: if you're new to the working world, feel your way around situations carefully, because there is every type of incest and politics going on. Don't think that doing the right thing and being a good employee is always going to matter; often the most important thing is picking your battles carefully.

Unfortunately, biatches who are sleeping with the boss often look for people to pick fights with, so sometimes the battle comes to you.
