It does suck now, but it is going under major renovations over the next 3 years. Adding tons of amenities that are commonplace at newer stadiums and building more vertical structures (press/luxury boxes, etc.), which should help direct some of the noise at the field.
Being in the student section there is kind of frustrating when you're hoping to be noise enough on opposing 3rd downs. There's simply just too much open space and a lot of the noise gets lost.
