While I love High-Stakes poker..... it's basically one step above a game of chicken. Those guys are just trying to prove who is the best in every hand and it is not realistic play as you would find in a 3/6 game. While they play great poker.... they are playing at a level that no new player should play (in terms of being aggressive).

Let me clarify:
The posters question was regarding starting hands and what good ones are. Poker on TV with a good commentator can give you a good insight to hole cards and why or why not you should play them.
Yes "live at the Bike" is a better option.
Tournament play is nothing like what they show on TV and if one is learning tournament play TV is a bad choice.
