Default Re: Guitar Hero II on XBOX360. I can\'t wait!

Okay, so after a long time lurking on 2+2 I just found this thread. Interesting that some of the better players over at scorehero post here as well. Apart from poker, GH is my most recent obsession. I got my log (5* every career song on expert) about a month after getting the game, have every singly player accomplishment (500k on X-Treme, crappy song, but good for point whoring), but I'm nowhere near some of the top players over at scorehero. The thought of effortlessly nailing some of the moderately difficult solos in the game (like, say, the one in "Push, Push, Lady Lightning"), as some of the players do even in live competitions (i.e. the WSVG) is just mind-boggling to me - but no doubt my limited skills might seem as such to players that are still poking around on Easy and Medium.

A couple of points to consider:

- Five-starring Jordan is not quite as impressive as it sounds. The general rule surrounding Jordan is that if you can beat it, you can 5-star it. Apart from the 16 Measures of Hell (solo b and solo c), it's actually not that difficult a song - solo f is difficult, but well within the range of other, less difficult songs.

- Five-starring "Six" is actually much more difficult. It's the one song in the game I still haven't five-starred (this includes all the DLC). The reason for this is that its chorus/verses are the most complex in the game (with the possible exception of "Misirlou", depending if fast-strumming is your thing), and quite difficult to maintain a good multiplier or use your star power efficiently. My rock meter never drops out of the green in this *bleeping* song, but I also never seem to get above a 3x multiplier outside of the quiet interlude.

- There are plenty of good songs in the bonus songs, although there a few real losers as well. "Yes We Can" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, although I think that "Red Lottery" tops it.

- Guitar Hero 3. October 24. Insane track list. Wireless guitar. Nuff said.
