werent you a decent winner at 5/10? what made you drop down?

100k hands at 5/10 at 1.63PTBB/100 vs 60k hands at 2/4 at 6.5PTBB/100. I also, lost about 22k live in Vegas, so had to spend a couple weeks rebuilding my roll and then I realized that the most important part of poker that I have spent my entire history playing ignoring is table selection. Since I've started to table select well I stopped caring about what stakes I played and started caring about playing well. So much better for your physocology when your table lineup at each table doesn't include three 2+2ers. I could move back to 5/10 regularly and have over a 50 buyin roll for it just don't care to play in games like that on a regular basis. If the 5/10 games get good I'll be there.

Jared this is good stuff - that i'm starting to experiment with myself. I used to be so stubborn that i'd 6-table 5-10 w/ no care of who was at my tables. But if there are 5 regulars at your table, wtf is the point? Sure i'm still a winner overall at 5-10, but the edge is SOOOO much smaller playing against people who know what they are doing and will play back at you. And the swings against tough regs are tough to swallow mentally as well... There is really nothing wrong w/ looking for tables that have some marks in them. AFterall, poker is about making moniez, and not showing how "good" you are.

It used to be 10/20 was the shark filled waters and 5/10 was soft, right? (I wasnt around much on party, so srs q).
Is this our future? Pretty soon 2/4 will get tough and we're playing 1/2?
Maybe just doomsday thinking, I certainly hope game quality doesnt get any worse. Maybe fish have enough money that 2/4 will always be juicy? It is a really good hourly after all.
