Default Re: 16 FTP Pros in 500K today

[ QUOTE ]

(1) for the majority, professional poker player status is questionable at best

(2) it not advisable to attempt to learn from their play, as many of them have very questionable tournament poker skills

(3) as a rule, these people do not chat with the table, and on the rare occasion that they do, they have nothing of interest to say

(4) who wants to play with shills ?

While it's pretty worthless to argue with someone who doesn't know what they are talking about and are unwilling to change their flawed opinion, I suppose I've got nothing better to do:

1. Everyone who is a red pro on FTP plays poker for their entire income, with the notable exceptions of Shannon, the two UFC guys, and Broadie (who has more money than god, although he still technically currently makes his money from poker). If the other's pro status is "questionable at best" we would be, you know, homeless.

2. I know it's tough for people who just want to hate on others to look at the stats, but a vast majority of red pros (again, with a few notable exceptions) have very solid tournament histories, live and online included. Most of the players aren't willing or able to play 10 hours a day every day, so you may not see them taking down a tournament online every week but to say that their skills are sub-par is laughable since, again, if that were true everyone would be broke.

3. Many of the pros set aside some time every month where they one table on FTP and try to talk to everyone who says hello and answer questions. Furthurmore, most have pro chats every month. If you expect the pros to sit there and respond to everyone who throws ad-hominem attacks at them all day you are crazy.

4. You don't know what the word "shill" means. A shill is someone who doesn't play with any of their own money. All of the FTP pros play with their own money.

You seem to be tripping over yourself to contradict yourself in order to express your displeasure that some people get to have their names in red. You say that you want FTP to give back to players, ignoring the fact that every red pro that plays in any tournament has a bounty on them that is put up 100% by FTP, out of their own pocket. Furthermore, it's pretty much a proven fact that a red table or tournament attracts very weak competition. While this isn't FTP putting money directly into your pocket, any thinking player can use this knowledge to add extra equity to their sessions by finding tables with pros at them and picking on the weaker players who just want to play with a "name".
