From India - South East Asia you have to fly because you can't cross Burma (Myanmar) by land. Cheap flights from Chennai/Bangalore to Singapore/KL though... try jetstar. I came into India from Nepal (from Tibet) overland and was going to go into Bangladesh, but decided to [censored] it and follow a girl to Indonesia...

Clubbing? Truthfully, not a whole lot of "clubbing" was had on my last trip, but did do a whole lot of partying, which lots of the time included dancing... I would say that there are only a handful of places that i've been in Asia where nice clothes for clubs would have been useful... Bombay, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Istanbul and Singapore. And even then, we still partied pretty [censored] hard, just didn't go into the super clubs or whatever... didn't really have a whole lot of money for that anyway.

Travelling by yourself is the best. You meet so many more people that way, mostly because there's nothing other to do and you HAVE to meet people, while if yoiur'e with another person, you can go to a hostel and just hang out with yourselves...
