Re: 4/180 ITM JTs against UTG raise from weak-tight villain
First, I don't like calling off 25% of our stack with JTs here, I don't care what villain it's against.
Second, your stack is pretty short and looks desperate to make a move. Also, if he has any decent volume in 4/180s, he knows that people go insane once the money bubble bursts, and even though he's weak he may very well adjust his calling requirements. I find I have very little FE on shoves until we get down to 10 people or so, although it's a great time to pick up a hand since you're like guaranteed action. Although he folded to 3bets in the past, most likely those were against people with some chips behind. I mean I know he's crippled if he loses this hand, but a 13 BB 3bet AI isn't exactly a pillar of strength, he can profitably call with most of his EP raising range. Long story short, I think it's great that you were observant and got a solid read on villain, and this projects very well for your future success in poker. However, on this particular hand, I just don't think your attempt to take advantage of his weak tendencies is believable. If he called you with AA then your play may have been great and you were just really unlucky, if he called you with AT then your read was off somehow.
