I am in the same situation as OP and was going to post such a thread... but then I read the FAQ, and behold, here a thread already is. Anyway, I play low stakes and would also appreciate reading any further advice on where/what to play and see while I'm there.

I'm going with my girlfriend's family, so just about everything will be paid for (except gambling obv), and we'll be staying at Caesar's Palace. I'm not interested in drinking establishments or strip clubs, but some of the shows could be a good time.
