The reason why the check on the turn is okay, in this example, is that you save money by waiting to bet the river and get raised off your hand. Obv, if you bet the turn, your river value bet would be costing you a ton of money! You've basically just jammed a ton of value in there, just to find out youve been dead the whole way. That is why the check on the turn is okay....he was suspicious, and didnt want to jam it up.
Now, after seeing the big call with top pair QT in your other hand, Villian could really regard you as quite loose and put you on top pair again, giviing all the more reason to raise you on the river with QQ.
SInce you didnt jam the pot up and kept it under control, thats why i dont mind a loose river call..even If I lose Ive also gained some info. on my opponent.
