Re: Donkey Test
I got an 89, below average. Took me an hour or a bit more I think. I paid the $10, figured I had spent so long on the test I might has well, but wish I hadn't as I was disappointed in the breakdown. No additional insights over the sample really.
Though I consider some questions on the test to be dubious, below average makes sense for me as I've only played home games. So I have no non-casual experience, and I've never read a strategy book of any sort. Hope to make a trip to the casino as soon as my buddies can coordinate schedules, AC is two hours away (I refuse to play online because of addiction risk...I'm afraid I'd lose dozens of hours a month to that if I started!)
The questions where I least understand the widely accepted right answer are 6 (raise with QJo) and 23 (fold with 10 high flush). I guess with 6 by raising you're being aggressive, and probably have two live cards...but since I'm not a blind I would've folded there in real life. And in 23, I can see the concerns about a higher flush or full house, but I just don't think those are very likely in real life. I would think the other guys were holding two pair or had a straight draw/hit a straight with the 6 on the turn. I couldn't see myself doing anything other than raising in that situation.
This was a real good thread, keep it up!
