I can understand why they segregate tennis. Or volleyball. Or any of 9,998 other sports where women would make next to nothing if they had to compete openly against men. Why not play up Maria Sharapova's sexuality when you could only claim that "she's a great talent (for a woman)"? The full segregation already does the demeaning, so it costs us nothing.
Poker is better than this.
It's such a unique activity. Women have no biological disadvantage, they have a rare opportunity to compete as equals. Poker doesn't fit the mold that tennis, volleyball, or any other of those sports does. We're only going to damage poker by trying to squeeze it into such a mold.
Women poker players deserve better than this.
