Incorrect. There are actually two different TDA rules.
1. Show one (player), show all (players).
2. Show one (card), show both/all (cards).
Not in operation at all tournaments, but its purpose is to prevent a player from merely showing a needle card. Whether it's a good rule or not is highly debatable.

Rule 2 has been reversed again at this year's WSOP. You don't have to show both if you show one.
