Default Re: Avg. Salary of Wharton Grad debate

[ QUOTE ]
As someone who just graduated from Wharton (2007) and has many friends in these fields, this is what is going on today:

At i-banks:
Starting Salary: 60k
Signing Bonus: 10k
End of Year Performance Bonus: Recent bonuses were between 80-100k. I assume it will stay around the same/increase slightly over the next year depending on the economy.

Consulting: 50-55k (depending on the firm)
Signing Bonus: 5k-10k (depending on the firm)
End of Year Performance Bonus: I have much less knowledge about this number than any of the others, but I believe it would not exceed 20k.

Pretty accurate, although Goldman paid out record bonuses and I have not heard of any I-Banking analysts with 100k bonuses. Most people I know who started work a week ago at major NYC I-banks recieved:

Base: $65k
Signing Bonus: $15k
Bonuses: Expected btw. 80-120% of base. Everyone ends up over $100k, but no one makes over $150k.

This was the standard this year as all banks must keep pay even as they compete for applicants.
