Re: Party loses another one to Stars
[ QUOTE ]
Where do you draw the line between violating the T&C and actually cheating? You have been advocating a policy of having a single punishment for all instances of cheating, regardless of the circumstances or severity. But now you are talking about a person's "intent" behind their actions, and also claiming that certain infractions are not worth the same punishment as other infractions.
You created a poll on "Stars policy vs Party policy" when in fact both sites have the same policy: they make decisions on a case-by-case basis. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would have a problem with this.

I never created a poll. I have always assumed both sites have the same claus on account siezures(I don't play much at stars so I'm not sure). When I talked about intent, I was being hypothetical. Party could never prove that a second account was created to cheat.
I've posted this in another thread on cheating. Violating the T&C's and cheating are seperate things. Cheating will almost always involve violating a T&C. Cheating is an instance were a player gains unfair advantage or edge over other players. If violating T&C doesn't do this then it is not cheating.
Suppose party's T&C said you couldn't play poker wearing a red shirt. If I wear a red shirt when I play I am violating T&C's. Obviously I am not cheating. There is no unfair edge I get over others for doing this. Entering 6 accounts into a tourney is violating TnC's and gaing unfair advantage over other players. That's why this is cheating. Using 6 different accounts to play sng's is violating T&C's and gaining unfair advantage over other players.
If a player had created a second account for RB he is violating T&C's, but there is no edge he gets over others for doing so. This is breaking a rule, not cheating.
I don't have a problem with the policy of Stars or Party. I have a problem with Star's not enforcing a punitive measure on a cheater. I agree every instance should be case by case to evaluate if it is cheating. If it is determined that cheating took place then I think there needs to be punitive damages on the cheater.
