Default Re: Cake Poker Slanders Me, Threatens Me, and Takes Initial Deposit

Note - like everyone else it's obvious that Cake didn't behave so hot here. But while we are all addressing Reef on what he might be able to improve upon.....

I had this happen to me at Absolute one time except it was a $600 or $750 deposit or something.
Didn't show up in my account so I sent a nice e-mail. No reply. I send another one. No reply.
Arrrgh, they must be out for the weekend or something.

Somewhere on their website or via a thread about it here I find that they have a phone number.
The representative apologizes and credits the money to my account right-away.
I say that I had sent 2 or 3 e-mails and she says something like, "Oh...for something like this don't do that. A phone-call will get it taken care of much quicker."

Note that this was handled easily and professionally on my end, and mostly on their end too except for the e-mails that weren't answered.

I didn't have to threaten a charge-back or amything.
I just had to get a hold of somebody to tell them, "Hey guys. You received my money but it didn't make it into my account for some reason. Please fix this."

This stuff really isn't that hard.
Mistakes happen. Don't freak-out when you are letting them know.

Finally, behaving politely and professionally and not ticking anyone off also gives the chance of them deciding to give you a little bit extra for your troubles like an extra $10 or a tourney-entry or something.
Behaving less than professionally or unnecessarily threatening to do a charge-back when nothing really had even happened decreases your chances of this.
