Camstudio users, can you help?

when I use CamStudio the audio is completely messed up. It's not just a snyc problem; the audio is very bitty - it sounds like it might be speeded up a lot?

are there any known issues with this?

to narrow down my question a bit: what audio settings should I use?

I can record fine using sound recorder so either I have some setting wrong or my computer cannot handle recording video+audio at the same time.
