Re: Car under $25,000 (and request for general new car buying advice)

Haven't seen it posted yet, so I'll recommend a Mitsubishi Galant ES/SE. It's a Japanese car that's just as well-built as a Camry/Accord, but is a little cheaper for the same amount of extras. I've been in the market the past couple months and have noticed reviews for the new Camry's aren't that great.

I have a 2006 Galant GTS which I got for around 21k. I talked the guy down then hit him for 4500 in rebates. It is a great car to drive. Lots of pep (230hp) and handles well. the only drawback as far as I can tell is the turning radius is pretty damn wide.
Anyway, someone mentioned in this thread that there were problems with the cars. I have not experienced any issues with it nor do I know anyone that had anything bad to say. He may be talking about the older smaller galant. The new models have gotten very good reviews. However their resale is not on par with Honda and Toyota, then again what is.
I needed the big engine for the nutty (fast) way I like to drive. If you do not require as much pep the 4 cyl. version is much cheaper.
