Default Re: Transformers pre-screen factoid report

Minor spoilers in this...

Flip your brain off and enjoy it. Sick action and there's no question Starscream is the baddest-@$$ one around. Although I've really gotta say that Frenzy was the one I enjoyed the most.

Enoyed most of the humor. The love story really bogged things down a lot and they could have scrapped it and given more interaction between the Transformers. The two most disappointing things to me was there not being more conflict between Starscream and Megatron (I really expected those two to be at each other's throats trying to get to the Cube first), and Prime really wasn't much of a match for Megatron. In the cartoon they were always pretty evenly matched with maybe a slight edge to Megatron, but in the movie Prime just seemed to be taking a wicked beating without putting up much of a fight.

$20 says the sequel comes no later than summer '10. I went to the 10:10 showing last night, got there at 9:45 (tickets already in hand), and there was already a line out the door with previously bought tickets waiting to get into the theater. Very well received...more audience interaction than I've seen probably since T2. In addition to chearing and applause at the beginning and end, the theater did it five other times in the actual movie (annoying). I can't imagine this movie does less than $80MM through Sunday, and could easily go over $100MM.
