Default Re: BODOG STOLE MY WINNINGS!!!

I said they need to make it more up front, like on the actual deposit page where the user is entering his bank account info. He needs to see this text displayed prominently so he can make very certain his information is correct.

They should also adopt a "enter it twice for verification" type system, like with passwords at most sites.

This would eliminate people who accidentally screw up like the OP and also still allow Bodog to prevent retards from trying to steal money.

I would agree with this.

I started off thinking that the OP was being ripped off by BO, but once I thought about it I realised they couldn't have an "it depends" policy on something like this.

If you enter the wrong bank account number it's wrong whether it's the last number missing or every number made up, and, as others have said, whether the OP is innocent or guilty in intent, it would make it far too easy for the scammer to try it on if there was an "it depends" policy.

Sadly, therefore, I have to see BO's point; even though, in this particular case, I believe the OP is innocent. (Why would he bother to tell us about this otherwise?)

On the other hand, if I ran BO, I would give Accounts Managers some outside-the-boundaries leeway to allow "deals" to be made when they thought there might have been legitimate mistakes made in some specific similar cases.

Finally, from a basic PR pov, it would be good, in the few cases where obvious or likely guilt of a scam was decided, if the money "confiscated" was returned to the losers of pots, rather than simply scooped into BO's coffers. Then they might have a few people coming forward in situations like these to say, "I was that man - they gave me $30 because they told me the pot-winner had had his hand over-ruled for an undisclosed reason!" Positive comment such as that does so much good for a site I am constantly surprised why the Poker Managers aren't on here all the time telling us how they have resolved cases to the benefit of the "cheated" players.
