I hated that part so much, I didn't even bother watching the rest of the parts. The Commandment being violated (thou shalt have no Gods before me) isn't even vaguely related to the story of an atheist's kid who falls through the ice. The point was that the scientist trusted his calculations (he calculated that his son wouldn't fall through the ice) more than he trusted God. But you're trusting some scientist's calculations every time you cross a bridge, ride an elevator, or even sit in a chair.

well, no, not as such - but the notion of God was there in the story even without such an obvious connection. I don't think Kieslowski was looking to be so literal or ham-handed. The stories don't necessarily link up 1 with 1 Commandment, either.
I suggest giving the other 9 parts a chance.
