Another good thing about Stars is that if you ever decide you want to cheat, the only thing you lose if you get caught is the money you won while cheating!

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, thats a good thing. If somehow you get falsely accused of cheating, at least you won't be wiped out totally.

You are absolutely correct. Any player that is advocating a site should take a player's entire online bankroll even in the event of proven cheating is not thinking clearly, IMO.

Only funds that are directly linked to the cheating should be confisicated and naturally that player be permanently banned.

PokerStars got this one right and the action they took should be applauded by us players.

The position Party took in this case (total confisication of funds) should have been railed against by us players.

Players need to ask themselves what if they were falsely accused of cheating and their entire bankroll was wiped out?

There have been many cases where people are falsely accused, get convicted, and then serve jail time.

Perhaps we should just do away with jail then. Should I try to lower the prison sentence for murderers because one day, I might be falsely accused of murder and convicted? Maybe I should try to get rid of Megan's law cause I might one day be falsely accused of child molestation.

You might be a dumb@ss if you think that a site was too harsh against a player that was cheating you.

Wow!

I think the discussion is what is the appropriate punishment for the offense that occurred. No where did I suggest that no punishment should have taken place.

I will take my chances with the cheating players, because guess what, they will always be cheating players. If I think I am being cheated I would be running away from that table and that site if I thought they were not any taking steps to control it. I never want to give the Poker Sites a green light that it is OK with me to sieze players funds with carte blanche authority because a player might have accidentally violated their terms & conditions.

Any player that does not come to a similar conclusion, I think really needs to think about this a little more deeply than just, "Let's fry the cheater!"

Everything is always not so black and white.

Punishment should fit the crime. Period!

I believe Stars happened to get this right and their punishment was appropriate.
