I play a lot of NL right now because the games are good and I like the lower variance. That being said, I actually think limit poker, especially short-handed, is a lot of fun. When the NL games dry up I won't be bummed to have to switch back. Though, like others have mentioned, it is nice booking so many winning sessions.

However the variance in NL games, especially short-handed NL games, is becoming greater as the players become more aggressive. I've seen some 5/10 and 10/20 NL graphs that look like similar to shorthanded LHE graphs. I think the main difference is that you have more of a choice of how much variance you want to experience. I play a higher variance style and have greater swings playing NL then many players do.

Also, that whole "protecting your hand" stuff is [censored]. If you flop a straight and they call down with middle pair thank your lucky stars.
