Sure, I might be getting leveled here, but, like, there's good a reason why they always use 555.

i'm fairly certain you can make up a lot of fake numbers that aren't so obviously fake. for example, the phone numbers in the wire all have the 410 (baltimore) area code and aren't 555- xxxx variations.

the phone number thing is a pet peeve of mine. when they make up an adress in the movies it isn't always 555 Fake St. They come up with something believable.

555 is commonly used cause it's impossible for it to ever be real (all things being equal). I remember when Bruce Almighty came out there was a scene where a number was displayed on a pager (from God) and since it was only a 7-digit number, there was some dude who got calls all got weekend from people looking for God.

It's easier to use 555...
