I think this is pretty much what you're saying but since Chad wasn't there (unless I read it wrong) he only heard Vanessa's side. So I don't think there's really any blame that needs to go his way.

even if my girlfriend tells me a story that is the side vanessa told us, i see no reason why he would go ask the other guy to fight. its just such a boneheaded, retard move imo.
