Perhaps I was mistaken. I thought they usually combined tables when they got to ten players and then played until the next got busted to set the "final table" with nine players.

oops, yep, you're right -- they were going to combine the final tables at 10 anyway...i guess I was mostly happy b/c i could email my friends at home and tell them i'd made televised "the final table", even if that distinction isn't typically proper until there are 9 left.
