Re: FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!

I have been playing $1/$2 NL in Atlantic City for a few years and just moved to FL this past January. For the record, EVERY SINGLE $1/$2 NL game in AC is structured like this $60 min buy in, $300 max buy in. Rake is 10% with Max of $5. I usually buy in for $200. Standard raise is $7 to $15 - usually anything absurdly more is someone trying to buy it with a bluff or some noob with AA that has not played a hand in 20 minutes. The thing is a raise to $15 when you have $200 in front of you is not so high, but when you only have $100 it can hurt you. Of course all drinks are free at the tables too. Then there is Foxwoods in CT, same buy in min/max but they have a timed rake of $5 every 30 min. Have only been to Foxwoods once and I did not like the timed rake at all. I consider myself an above average player but down here I am not sure what is gonna happen with this NL game. I am either going to win a lot or lose a lot - I see no midrange. Will people still call $15 preflop with 3 8 suited and crack my pocket QQ? For the most part the players in AC are all solid - meaning you dont get many "you called a $100 raise with a pair of 3s with a board of K Q 9 A and hit trips on the river vs my AK?" Not sure how this will play out here with everyone "used to" a $1/$2 limit game.

Vegas is the exact same way.
Be prepared for $10-$15 raises down here. And I can tell you that any n00b dork with sunglasses and a hat who open raises to $6 (3xBB) just won't "get it." And you can be sure he's strong.
