You will be lucky to drive 55 out of NYC and on I95 thru Conneticut. This is one of the most congested roads in the country. If you hit a traffic jam plan on half a day to get to foxwoods.
If you change your plans and go to Atlantic City you will get the action you want and can speed down the Garden State Parkway and maybe get away with it. If your girlfriend has not been to Atlantic City and is not a big poker player there is lots more to see than at Foxwoods
