It's definitely an angle shot.
I wasnt sure of its direct effectiveness as I was fairly sure the old man had 75, for 7-high and I'm fairly sure he said, "no, I see it, its good."

I know that is what he said but I really can't think of a reason he could possibly just call that river with like 7 high when he was leaving anyway and the whole table already knew Ernesto was FOS. I think he said that to save face when he realized his cards couldn't be yanked out of the muck.
