I remember reading an incredible magazine article about a man whose life involved:

* being born into a very rich American family c1960
* being on the punk scene in London in the late 1970s
* fighting for the Muhajadeen against the Soviets in 1980s
Afghanistan
* heroin addiction
* working as a photographer in the 1990s, maybe for AP?
* Being found dead of a heroin overdose c2000 in Pakistan on the border with Afghanistan; but there were suggestion he was murdered.

He wasn't one of the famous 'Bang Bang Club' of photojournalists, though there are obvious similarities.

I can't seem to find him with Google.

Do any of you know who I mean? I would love to know if a book or film had been released about him.
