sure you can blame childhood for personality quirks, but not outright bad actions.
if somebody claims (and Brandi hasn't yet) that they're a liar, a cheat, and a thief because their father was a sumbitch, it just don't cut rope.
People need to learn how to grow up and take accountability for their actions at some point.
