With people who are insane, they can certainly "believe" in this alternate reality that they have convinced themselves actually happened. It would do plenty. Whether the deluded one was Brandi or Mark. I already said that they both might pass. But in my book, and in the book of most professional gamblers, such a result (assuming the polygraph wasn't scammed) has a big implication compared to one of them failing.
