Phil's record in live NLHE tournaments pretty much speaks for itself. Nit: two of his bracelets are in limit (& back to back years too) & one is in pot-limit. I believe he's also the only one w/bracelets in all three styles. He also won a big 7-stud tourney in Europe years ago.

He's done a great job in branding himself, and developing his playing style and esp. the perception of that style.

There's a lot not to like about him, and quite a bit to REALLY not like, but gotta give credit where it's due; gg phil.

Ivey is a great NLHE tourney player. Check his record at Hendon Mob. He just has caught his cards in other events at the WSOP so far.

Doyle recently said that if he'd known how much people were going to talk about bracelets he'd have played more events. Mickey Mantle said about Canseco back in '88, "Hell, if I'd known 40-40 was such a big deal I'd have done it too."
