Default Re: NL25: AQ hits TPTK and gets mincheckraised on turn

I check marginal hands out of position quite regularly, 2 hearts or no. Some people will certainly disagree. Fair enough. They may well be right. But, I value pot control over what is likely a slim draw, especially out of position. I'm not going to build a big pot to protect my hand. I'm going to try to wrangle a small pot to protect my stack. At the core of my game, I try to win big pots with big hands and limit my losses out of position, especially with marginal hands. Sometimes I get drawn out on and pay a guy off for a small bet on the end. As often as that happens, get paid off by QJ when he bets on the end.

This article describes your hand almost exactly.

The core choice is around classifying the villain as passive and predictable or more capable of bluffing. I tend to lean towards the latter in the face of convincing evidence one way or the other with this sort of hand. So, I check.
