Has anyone determined how long 1 million live hands would take??

[/ QUOTE ]

At 40 hands/hour * 40/hours/week, it would take 625 weeks to play 1 million hands.

So yeah, 12 years, being pretty generous on hours.

I'm sure the fact those million hands online are played against tougher competition overall doesn't matter either.

On top of that, you have to factor in an online players ability to go through PokerTracker and review important hands or entire sessions. This is a huge advantage that online players have over live players.

Not so much. I remember most of my important live hands bet for bet. I think it's easier to remember and learn from a hand played live than an online hand. More think time = better memory and better judgement to store memory.

unless you are logging hands into some kind of book or database to review later this is incorrect. w/ pokertracker i am able to review my past session or past weeks of play to see what i am doing wrong and plug leaks based on this. there is no way you are remembering all your tough hands from your sessions 2 weeks ago if you play full time live poker.
