But the general point I was tying to make wasnt to peacock, it was to always wear thing a bit nicer than most people, which will make you stand out in a good way. For me on most days it means wearing a nice short sleeve shirt (plaid, wtf?) or just anything that wont make me blend into a sea of college guys.

Wearing things a bit nicer than others does make sense, but I didn't take that away at all from what you originally wrote. Oh well.
