I always play by the rules.
If a player chooses to bend the rules in casual play that is his choice. I don't mind at all. He should keep in mind though that an official handicap requires playing by the rules at all times.
Personally I know too many people who bend the rules, then brag about the scores they shoot. This I find very annoying.
