Default Re: Best Big Men to Ever Play the Game

Kareem has to be mentioned along with Wilt Chamberlain and Shaq as probably the 3 most dominant centers ever. When he went by Lew Alcindor(with the fro) he was basically unstoppable offensively, and one of the best defenders in the league.

Bill Russell is a very tough guy to rate. I don't think anyone has mentioned his passing ability yet. He started a lot of fast breaks after a defensive rebound that would go for an easy 2. He was an unselfish player in a very well balanced system. I honestly think a lot of you guys saying Russell played on the dominant team or had the better coach are missing something. Russell brought intensity to the court on every play. He refused to lose, just like Jordan. Bill Russell was probably the most complete big man in history, especially when you consider intangibles.
