I think what gets her pissed off is that I play poker in the living room so when I am playing, she can attempt to talk to me and whatever, but I really can't reciprocate b/c I have to concentrate and play. So I guess she feels like I should be available while I am playing to fully communicate, but I feel like I am treating it like I am at work and can't really talk.

I used to have an office in the home and when I was trying to work my wife would come in and start talking to me about the her day and go on and on not the 5 minute version the 45 minute blow by blow. I tried many times to address this issue of her interuptions hurting my getting my work for appointments done. She was so self centered she had no idea how much she did it and could not see it even when brought to her attention. I spent the money to set up a small office in a business building and problem solved. You may have to find another location to "work".

I tried the office thing for poker, but it was at my dad's office building like 30 minutes away and I hated the commute.

Then I decided to upgrade my 1 bed. condo to a 2 bed. so I can use one room as my office.

I think a better solution would be a small office not in my condo but nearby.
