Re: Prs to be making me less broke? Financial Follies

All,
I agree that you are largely right about anacardo. However, I think you guys are really zooming in on his bad points here and just really nailing him to a cross on them. Sure everyone has bad attitudes, and they tend to stick out to us a lot more than the good ones. I like anacardo, and I think he comes off pretty immature in this thread. But these attacks against him aren't what this thread is for, and they have run their course. I suggest we try to head this thread into a more positive direction, and if you can't do that maybe try not posting in it at all.

As I said earlier, I think one of the main problems in Cardo's employment outlook (and probably personal life as well) is that he insulates himself with ideas, many of which are about himself, and many of which don't jive with this reality. Because he was the smartest kid growing up, and he's articulate, he thinks he's a genius. He seems to then extend that reasoning to say that any avenue of life that doesn't recognize, appreciate, or nurture his genius, is not worth pursuing. But it is entirely possible that said genius is merely in Cardo's head, and he's afraid to find out that being the smartest kid in school in Tyler, Texas, is not the same thing as being actually smart. So he doesn't extend himself in any avenue that might challenge his perceptions of himself-- even when it comes down to finding a job, something as essential as making the money he needs to live, he seems to reject any suggestion that doesn't cater to his sensibilities.
So my advice to him is the same as always: Get out of your own head, accept that some people may understand some things better than you, even if you don't like the way they present their ideas, and listen to them. [censored], maybe even smoke some pot-- it may or may not be the right thing for you, but at least it'll force a temporary change in your perspective.
