They are rare denoninations for a reason. If you get this set, you'll find that some of the chips never get used.
I'd recommend a set with:
White: Can be used as $1 or $0.01 for cash games, or as $t1000 in tourneys.
Red: Used as $5.
Green: Used as $25.
Black: Used as $100.
POSSIBLY purple: Handy as $500s, but definitely not essential.
Really try to put some thought into the denominations you really need, and the numbers of each you're likely to require before you buy, then try to find a merchant that will fill your exact specific needs. It sucks bigtime when you continually run out of black and green chips, but always have a massive surplus of blues (that you only used twice before deciding they're more trouble than they're worth).
