Not for a USB enclosure. Never seen one that needs drivers for any OS other than <= Win98 - and I've seen many and varied HDD enclosures.

Maybe a weirdo Vista thing, but I can't see MS removing generic drivers that were present in XP.... surely?

you are not running Vista x64 are you? That would make all the difference...
