Re: Luxor 1/2 $50 buy in?
I played in this game a fair bit the last time I went to Vegas. I didn't intend to play in it very much but I was staying at the Luxor with a few friends and we ended up hanging out in that poker room when we had time to kill. I had originally intended to walk to another room like MGM or Excal but usually just ended up sitting at Luxor if I only had an hour or two to play.
I wouldn't recommend this game to any decent player. It was annoying not having enough chips to play with. And even when I was able to get a decent sized stack most of the time the other players had like $30 each. Also playing with such short stacks helps the mediocre players to play better because they can't make any huge mistakes either preflop or postflop. I didn't find the average player in that game to be any worse than a typical 1/2 NL game either.
So basically I don't recommend playing there very much. However, this is a great NL game to get drunk in. It's so easy to play push bot poker and they were fairly quick at bringing Coronas.
