Sosa has a higher upside than Park, possibly much higher looking at his '05 performance. That's why you don't want to finagle with him, particularly since you're basing his expectations largely on a mere handful of minor league starts this season. With the problems in the Mets rotation apparently not limited to El Duque (i.e., Pelfrey), there's no need to take what *might* be your best option and risk screwing him up so he can make one start on a chilly night in April against the Marlins.
As of Sunday, the Mets were saying, at least publicly, that they thought El Duque would pitch Monday. In fact, their own website was reporting yesterday that El Duque might still pitch.

You are acting like Sosa is some minor league prospect we need to protect. He is just a [censored] journeyman, Park is a shittier journeyman, Sosa desrved the start, thats all there is to it. We are not seasoning Jorge to turn him into the next Juan Marachal.
