Except that the strange thing about such comments is that I have also heard them from some people who I would otherwise consider to be relatively intelligent. In the very least, some of the people who I have heard this from would certainly score 120 or higher on an IQ test imo.
That's what really boggles my mind.
Also, I am probably so-so in smarts who doesn't consider himself to be very smart.
Don't get me wrong. I know I'm smarter than your typical live-poker doofus saying something really ridiculous about poker or life in general.
But just because so many around me are total idiots isn't enough for me to consider myself smart.
